DIABETIC PURANPOLI

This PURANPOLI Recipe Is An Ocassional Recipe Which Serves Mostly During Important Festivals Such As Holi. IT Is Very Diabetic-friendly By Using Sugar
Approx 20 Min
For the dough
- 1-1/2 cups whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
- 4 tablespoon low fat milk
For the filling
- 1 cup chana (split Bengal gram) dal
- 3 teaspoons (approx.) sugar substitute
Other ingredients
- Whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta) for rolling
For serving
- 1-1/2 teaspoons ghee for cooking
For the dough
- Make soft dough using the flour, milk and a little water (if required). Knead it well.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and set aside.
For the filling
- Clean, wash and soak chana dal for 1 hour.
- Drain the soaked chana dal, add ½ cup of water and cook it in a pressure cooker for 2 to 3 whistles.
- Lightly mash the dal, add the sugar substitute and mix well. Cool completely and keep aside.
How to proceed
- Roll out one portion of the dough into a circle of 75 mm (3") diameter using a little flour.
- Place a portion of the filling in the centre of the circle.
- Bring together all the sides in the centre and seal tightly.
- Roll out again into a circle of 75 mm (3") diameter using a little flour.
- Cook on a non-stick pan until both sides are brown.
- Repeat with the remaining dough and filling to make 7 more puranpolis.
